Credit Card Security via Global Iris
We use the latest encrypted service through the HSBC Bank Global Iris Cardholder Payments Interface (CPI) using the latest security programmes introduced by Visa – Account Information Security program (AISP) and MasterCard – Site Data Protection Service (SDPS).
We will continue to implement any further changes suggested by HSBC to comply with any future security enhancements. Our sole aim is to ensure the best security available for your protection.
Quality and layout of Goods
Our custom made signs are manufactured as a one-piece casting in a polymer resin material that will not rust, corrode or oxidize. The one-piece casting will be set out from customers' instructions and will normally include a combination of raised numbers, Upper Case letters and motif only (or with appropriate flat painted background as indicated on the Website examples). Special Commissions, new Motifs, Flat Painted artwork and different colour background signs are subject to a different pricing structure which depends on the amount and intricacy of work involved. A gold paint finish is normally used for all numbers and/or letters and our Artists individually hand paint each sign using a high quality acrylic paint. All painted surfaces are professionally sealed. The very nature of individually casting each sign means the surface and finish may vary slightly which enhances the uniqueness of each product. Whilst every effort will be made for artwork to be representative, of the examples seen on our Websites or customers own requirements, it must be appreciated that slight variations in colour, tone and surface texture may occur. Goods supplies by us other than cast polymer resin signs may be produced from different materials as specifically advised. Any apparent defects in goods supplied by us must be advised in writing to us within 5 days of delivery and any such goods returned to us will (in the first instance) be at the customer's expense.
Order acknowledgements / time constraints/cancellation
An acknowledgment will be sent by Email for all online orders, and we must receive any changes to the layout within 3 days of the order date. Unless specifically requested the setting out of any sign will be made at our discretion using our knowledge to achieve the best possible effect. We will advise when it is clear that any order cannot be processed due to lack of space for requested motif/number/ lettering etc .in which case we will advise a different size (or shape), discuss changes to the layout or give you the opportunity to cancel. It must clearly be understood that all of our custom made signs are an individual one-piece resin casting and as such cannot be cancelled once the production process has started as it would be extremely rare for exactly the same details and design to be requested by another customer at the same time as your order.
All goods are quoted in and shall be paid for in £Sterling. As our products are custom made payment in full is required at the time of ordering. The total price payable for the goods will be that stipulated on our Websites, or as agreed by us for a Special Commission, new raised Motif, different colour background charge or flat painted artwork. We will advise any errors at the time of acknowledgement and will not proceed with processing any order until any price query has been resolved.
The cost of post, packing and carriage is clearly stated on our Websites and is divided into 3 areas; the U.K.(including the Channel Islands), Europe (including E.U. Countries) and the Rest of the World (World Zones 1&2). Customs declarations will be attached to all packages sent to the Channel Islands, all non E.U. European Countries and the Rest of the World. You will be liable for any Import duties/Tax payable.
U.K. VAT (Value Added Tax) at the Standard Rate is included in all our quoted prices and a Standard Rate VAT Invoice will be issued, if requested. Our present Flat Rate VAT status prohibits us from deducting Standard Rate VAT for those customers outside the UK (and including the Channel Islands) and European Business Customers.
We reserve the right to change the prices on our Websites without notice.
Delivery/Carriage/Damaged Goods/Incorrect Goods Received
Whilst every endeavour will be made to despatch your goods within the expected delivery date stated on your order acknowledgement (normally 4/5 weeks for signs with artwork and 3/4 weeks for non artwork [i.e. plain] signs) this date cannot be guaranteed and a tolerance outside this date should be allowed for circumstances outside our control i.e. postal delays etc. We will always endeavour to meet a requested deadline i.e. Anniversary, Presentation etc. if at all possible. If we need to extend the normal delivery time this will be clearly marked on your order acknowledgement.
All U.K. orders are normally despatched as Royal Mail Packet Post items or by Parcel Force International for non-U.K. items (over 2kgs). We insure all items until received by you but in the event of non-delivery we must be advised within 2 weeks after the expected delivery time so that we can instigate our enquiries. In the event of a lost package we will discuss the options open to you including the making of a new sign on an urgent basis or refund. In these circumstances we must have written confirmation from you regarding non-delivery to enable us to proceed with any claim against the carrier company and to process any replacement order. Your letter must also confirm that you will advise us immediately should the original sign be received.
If any Goods are received damaged please advise us immediately and at the latest within 3 days of receipt of such damaged Goods. We will then advise the procedure to be followed.
If any incorrect Goods are received please advise us within 3 days of receipt of such Goods. If it is found that a mistake has been made on our part then we will offer a partial refund if the mistake is acceptable, a new urgently produced correct replacement if acceptable or a full refund. In the first instance the customer shall be responsible for the cost of returning such Goods. If the fault is on the part of the Customer then any replacement sign must be paid for in the same way as placing a new order.
Customer Responsibility for Accurate Sign Details
You acknowledge and accept that you are entirely responsible for the accuracy of all information that you input on our website or otherwise provide to us when placing an order for a sign. This includes, but is not limited to, text, spelling, numerals, and any other personalised details required for your sign order.
Prior to submitting your order, you must thoroughly review all of your entries and confirm that all the information provided is correct and spelt exactly as you wish it to appear on the sign. We will manufacture your sign based on the precise specifications you have provided, and we do not verify the correctness of the information inputted.
Limitation of Liability for Incorrectly Manufactured Signs:
Should a sign be produced with incorrect details as a result of typographical errors, misspellings, or other inaccuracies that you have entered during the ordering process, we cannot accept responsibility or liability for such errors. We will not offer refunds, reprints, or accept returns on the basis of customer input mistakes. Should a replacement sign be necessary, it will be at your own cost.
Please double-check your sign details for accuracy before confirming your order to ensure that the finished product meets your requirements.
Please note that we would require for you to contact us prior to installation. Once the sign has been installed we can no longer accept returns or refunds, as damage may have been caused during installation. Specific warranties apply to products other than our one-piece cast polymer resin signs and will be clearly specified, if applicable, on the write up for such products. This warranty relates to our polymer resin signs. Village Green Signs warrants, for a period of 12 months from the date of receipt of goods supplied, that such goods will be of merchantable quality. If, during this period, an apparent defect occurs such goods should be returned to us, at customer’s expense, with a note detailing the apparent defect. Once received any confirmed defect will be put right as soon as practicable by us by way of repair or replacement. Our liability by way of contract, tort or otherwise shall not exceed the value of the Goods purchased and we shall under no circumstances be liable to the Buyer of such Goods for any consequential, indirect or economic loss or damages.
In practice the life span of our house signs can vary depending on location, i.e. normal climatic conditions as opposed to a sign on the side of a boat. Equally it is important to adhere to the cleaning instructions sent with each sign as this protects the sealer used and if such instructions are not followed then any warranty is infringed. The material used, being man made, will not degrade but over a period of time any paints used, just like the outside of a painted house, may fade and need repainting. We do offer a refurbishment service the cost of which varies depending on the size of sign and artwork etc.involved.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
If either party is subject to an event of Force Majeure, i.e. circumstances (such as war, fire, industrial disputes, civil commotion etc.) outside its control then it shall immediately notify the other party and any obligation by either party shall be suspended until advised that the Force Majeure is no longer applicable.
Title and Transfer of Risk
Legal ownership of goods supplied by us will not pass to the purchaser (Customer) until all monies outstanding have been paid to Village Green Signs Ltd (the Company). Until this time such goods held by the purchaser shall be considered to be held in trust for the Company. The Transfer of Risk in the Goods shall pass to the Customer on delivery of such Goods.
The placing of an order for Goods via our Website secure ordering process (minimum order age is 18) or subsequent order received by other means (having initially viewed our Website) indicates acceptance by you of the these Terms and Conditions which shall be construed as English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of English Courts.
